About Us

Originally founded in 1984 as Grout Insurance Services and later as Grout & Judge, we have been trading as Grout Insurance Brokers since 2004. The firm is recognised by The Almshouse Association as a recommended provider of insurance products for its members throughout the UK for over 30 years. Douglas Grout has advised the Association on insurance matters since 1978.

We are based in the heart of the central business district of Croydon, yet are able to cover the whole of the UK with our special schemes.

Our Staff

All our advisers are members of The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) qualified to a minimum Associate standard and have achieved “Chartered Status” This is the ultimate symbol of professionalism and is an indicator of the highest standards of learning and ethical behaviour.

Almshouses

We are able to offer specialist policies for almshouses and work closely with our chosen insurer to continually review products to ensure the needs of almshouse charities continue to be met. Grout Insurance Brokers are the main provider of specialist insurance to Almshouse Charities in the UK. We have a dedicated team of advisers who are familiar with the operation and requirements of almshouse charities. Operating nationally, we regularly attend Almshouse Association Seminars held throughout the UK and visit member charities on a regular basis.
